Shri Rajnath Singh, India’s Defence Minister, has played a pivotal role in shaping the nation’s security policies, military modernization, and defense self-reliance. Over decades of public service, he has led key reforms, including the National Highway Development Programme (NHDP) as Union Surface Transport Minister and pioneering the Kisan Call Centre and Farm Income Insurance Scheme as Union Agriculture Minister. As Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh (2000-2002), he focused on governance and infrastructure, and later, as Union Home Minister (2014-2019), he strengthened national security and counter-terrorism efforts.
