Lieutenant General Raj Shukla (retd.) – Honorable Member of UPSC
Lieutenant General Raj Shukla, PVSM, YSM, SM, ADC, is a decorated veteran of the Indian Army’s Regiment of Artillery, known for his leadership in strategic warfare, military modernization, and defense policy. With a career spanning nearly four decades, he has commanded critical formations, including a Mountain Division, an Infantry Brigade in Counter-Insurgency Operations, and the X Corps in Bhatinda. As General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of the Army Training Command (ARTRAC), he played a key role in shaping India’s military training doctrines and future warfare strategies. Currently, as a Member of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), he continues to influence national security policymaking. A prolific writer and speaker, he has contributed extensively to defense literature, military think tanks, and strategic forums.
