General Upendra Dwivedi – CAOS
General Upendra Dwivedi, PVSM, AVSM, ADC, is the 30th Chief of the Army Staff of India, bringing nearly four decades of experience in military strategy, border security, and counter-terrorism operations. Commissioned into the Jammu & Kashmir Rifles in 1984, he has held key leadership roles, including Vice Chief of the Army Staff and General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Northern Command, where he played a critical role in overseeing operations along the China and Pakistan borders. A distinguished alumnus of Sainik School Rewa, the National Defence College, and the US Army War College, he holds an MPhil in Defence & Management Studies and two Master’s degrees in Strategic Studies and Military Science. His leadership has been instrumental in modernizing India’s military, integrating indigenous defense equipment under Atmanirbhar Bharat, and directing negotiations on border security. His insights at Kalam & Kavach 2.0 will be invaluable in shaping discussions on military modernization, strategic preparedness, and India’s evolving defense posture.
