General Rakesh Kapoor - DCAOS (Info Sys & Coord)

Lt Gen Rakesh Kapoor, a distinguished armored corps officer, currently serves as the Deputy Chief of the Army Staff (Info Sys & Coord). A graduate of St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University, he was commissioned into the elite 63 CAVALRY regiment in December 1987. With extensive operational experience across India’s diverse terrains, from the Rann of Kutch to high-altitude sectors in the East, he has commanded an Armoured Regiment, an Armoured Brigade, a Reorganised Army Plain Infantry Division, and the coveted Desert Corps. His expertise spans operational planning, capability development, and international defense collaboration, having served as an advisor to the Botswana Defence Forces and held key staff positions at Brigade, Division, and Army HQ levels. A graduate of the US Army War College, he brings a global perspective to modern warfare.
